We are so excited to announce that we have collaborated with 1st Day School Supplies to help parents and teachers get the exact supplies needed for next school year without the hassle and aggravation of shopping at Wal‐Mart, Target or Staples. Red Ribbon Week
R.O.A.D. helps support Red Ribbon Week, among other things. The purpose of Red Ribbon Week is to present a unified, positive and visible commitment toward a safe and drug-free America. PTAs are encouraged to plan prevention activities and programs in schools and communities to support a healthy, drug-free lifestyle.

If you are interested in helping please contact our R.O.A.D. Co-Chairs:


Health, Welfare and Safety 

• Annual review of School Safety Plan

• Annual review (coordination of volunteers) of Earthquake Materials (Classrooms and Shed)

• Periodic advisory meetings with Principal (maybe 2-3 times yearly)

• Preparation/Planning and volunteer staffing of the Great Shake Out 10/17 every year

• Re-stocking of Health Office supplies (juice boxes, crackers, etc.)

• Parent communication regarding school safety

• Arrival and Dismissal volunteer training/coordination

This Program will need lots of volunteers this year to help assist with Arrival and

Several Fridays throughout the year our Fun Fridays volunteers sell Cold Treats and Fun Toys after dismissal.

Scholarship Program 


The PTA awards 4 scholarships each year to a graduating ESHS student that is an alumni of RSS and is a member of the ES High School's PTSA.

Growing Great 


Growing Great is a nationwide community-based nonprofit nutrition education organization dedicated to inspiring children and adults to adopt healthy eating habits, decreasing the risk of obesity & disease. Our goal is to help children and families understand where our food comes from, appreciate that food serves a purpose in our overall health and has an impact on our longevity and well-being.

Richmond Street Learning Garden


The Garden Program was designed to enhance the classroom curriculum. RSS PTA strives to reach the most students possible.

The Garden helps us do just that. Coupled with the garden the Growing Great program has a garden education curriculum

component. This curriculum utilizes the garden and makes farm to desk possible.
