WRAD celebrates the importance of reading aloud and sharing stories. Be sure to read aloud taking action on behalf of the 750 million people who lack basic reading and writing skills. Visit Mrs. Haun's webpage for more information and resources!

• Open Mic Lunch (Grades 1-5) – Students encouraged to bring and share a poem
• School wide readings of "Light in the Attic" – EVERY class/teacher
• School wide favorite Read Alouds - “If you met someone who had never read a book and could choose one book to share with them, which book would it be? Why?” Students will fill out a book template and these will be displayed around the school.

“Reading aloud is my favorite way to create community and joy. A profound, magical connection forms between reader, text, and listener. Through the books we choose and the people we read with, we deepen relationships and create memories that will last a lifetime.” – Pam Allyn, Founding Director of LitWorld -

Pajama Drive

Hello RSS Families,
Our fifth annual pajama drive at Richmond Street
School turned out great! Thanks to your support
and generosity, we were able to collect 242
pair of pajamas in all sizes from infant to
teenager. For each donation Scholastic will
donate a book to children in need (one for
every pair of pajamas collected), and together,
we will make the nights a little happier for many
needy children in the Los Angeles area. Once
again thank you so much for your kindness and
Thank you!
Lindsay Sharp and the TK class

This is to not disturb the ESHS students while they are in classes, as well as the RSS performers lining up for their performance. Please remember that there is no food or drink allowed in the theatre whatsoever, coffee cups will be asked to be disposed of prior to entering.

Again, students will be entering through the North Quad by the football field and exiting through the South Quad. The North Quad entrance will not be open for parents to use. Please enter and exit through the front of the school.

If you have any questions about the students attire for the concert, or would like to practice the songs with your children you may visit: or e-mail our music teacher Mrs. Breene at
