The RSS Learning Garden has become one our student’s favorite experiences on campus. Over the past couple of years, our Garden Consultant, Garden Chair, and dedicated parents and students have revitalized the garden to make farm to desk possible!

The Scholastic Book Fair is a hit every year. RSS has recently been made a “Signature Fair”, a distinction only given to a handful of schools nationwide. Each year our Book Fair team transports us to another world where we get lost in books! The Book Fair team also hosts Literacy Night which is a fun night of book shopping, food, and activities.

Growing Great is a nationwide community-based nonprofit nutrition education organization dedicated to inspiring children and adults to adopt healthy eating habits, decreasing the risk of obesity & disease. Our goal is to help children and families understand where our food comes from, appreciate that food serves a purpose in our overall health and has an impact on our longevity and well-being.

Who doesn’t like getting a popsicle after school on Fridays? Well, PTA does and that is what Fun Fridays is all about! Select Fridays, PTA sells popsicles and other fun items after school for $1.

The National PTA Reflections Program is an arts recognition and achievement program for students. The Reflections Program provides opportunities for students themselves creatively and to receive positive recognition for original works of art inspired by a pre-selected theme, while increasing community awareness and the importance of art in education.

Each year, RSS PTA has the honor of awarding four seniors with scholarships. In order for a senior to be eligible for a scholarship, they must be RSS alumni and write an essay explaining why they are the best candidate for our scholarship.

Richmond Street Runners is open to all students and a great way to start the day! Students are able to run laps, before school, around Richmond Field and receive fun rewards for completing different challenges.

Every year, RSS PTA observes Teacher Appreciation Week. This national campaign focuses on celebrating our teachers (as well as our staff). Each year, our amazing TAW chairs create a theme and fun activities as a way to show our appreciation! One of the most fun weeks of the year!

We want everyone to be able to be proud of our school! We sell t-shirts, sweatshirts, hats, picnic blankets, water bottles, and much more! We do not profit from this program … we just want you to look good walking around town!

This national program, led by General Mills, gives back $.10 per Box Top to our school. Box Tops can be found on General Mills cereal boxes,

Zip-Loc Bags, Mac N Cheese boxes and much more. Cut, save, and hand into your teacher anytime throughout the year!

Red Ribbon Week is a national campaign that takes place from

October 23rd- October 31st. This program aims to teach students drug prevention education. At RSS, we use this week to teach our children the many ways to live a healthier and active lifestyle. We use the annual theme and change the wording to make it relevant to elementary school.
