California Student Mental Health Week is a reminder that student wellbeing matters every day. 💚
We are proud to support students as they build healthy relationships, develop coping skills, and learn the importance of asking for help when they need it.
This week, we encourage our school community to check in, show kindness, and help create spaces where every student feels seen, supported, and valued. 🤝

Here’s what his nominator had to say:
“Foti has been at the helm of El Segundo Athletics for two years and continues to take our competition to new heights. Mr. Davlantis had big shoes to fill and has done so with grace, patience, and A LOT of coordination! We have had huge success for El Segundo in recent years, from our CIF-winning Golf Team, new and highly successful Girls Flag Football, and the classic El Segundo Baseball team. Foti has done a tremendous job bringing budget clarity, recruiting talented coaches, and maintaining treasured traditions. This Week’s Gundo of the Week is Leilani Talanoa, cafeteria manager at El Segundo High School! 💙
Here’s what her nominator had to say:
“Being fed and ready to learn is a critical part of a student's day, and Leilani always ensures that students are taken care of. She goes out of her way to get to know them and what they want, so that their food options are specific to the students she supports. Leilani makes sure that student choices are varied and delicious, and that her staff does the same thing. Whether it's taking the food out to students on campus or at the gates as they arrive, or handing out food from the cafeteria, Leilani is always looking for ways to make sure students get what they need, all while delivering it with a smile.”
Thank you for being a part of Team Gundo! 👏
